I was born and grew up in the Cincinnati area. By my early teens I knew I enjoyed listening to people and helping them solve their problems, and decided I wanted to be a therapist. To that end, I went to University of Cincinnati and earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I continued at UC and earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work with a focus on mental health.
I have experience working with a wide variety of clients. I worked at Centerpoint Health serving families, couples and individuals affected by mental illness as well as those who were struggling with transitional life stressors. My graduate school internship was at Cancer Family Care, where I had the opportunity to work with clients on grief, pain and mortality issues. I continue to work with clients and families coping with illness by facilitating support groups at Cancer Support Community. I have also facilitated retreats focused on empowerment, deepening spiritual awareness and self-discovery.
To this day I continue to be a therapist for much the same reason I had when I started on this path. I love hearing people’s stories. I like helping people work through and solve their problems. I enjoy helping couples and families work through conflicts and become stronger because of it. I can’t think of anything I would rather do.
